LAST UPDATED: 29th September 2022
Post-covid travel is still a little daunting, with rules changing in most countries in 2022. Below are the entry requirements for Thailand at the time of writing. This is based on the current info from the UK Government - please double-check any specific requirements for your airline, and if you're flying from anywhere other than the UK please check entry requirements when coming from that country just in case they differ.
COVID-19 Vaccination/Test Requirements
You must meet one of the following requirements to enter Thailand:
Fully-vaccinated: 2+ jabs of a recognised vaccine (in Thailand, that includes Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and even Sinovac!) OR
Negative pro-ATK/RT-PCR test result for a test taken no more than 72 hours prior to flying.
For those who are vaccinated, your latest/final vaccine dose must have been administered at least 14 days prior to travel. Thailand will accept UK vaccination records, including the NHS app and COVID-19 recovery certificates.
Insurance
There is no longer a mandatory COVID-19 insurance requirement, but it's obviously advisable to have travel insurance. I say that as someone who flew to the US a few weeks ago, caught covid en route, but didn't have any insurance to get healthcare!
Passport
Your passport must have at least 6 months' validity remaining from your date of entry into Thailand. If your passport is due for renewal soon, please double-check the date.
Visa
For those performing at River Fest or Mahorasop, the festival organisers should be arranging a work permit and visa for you. If you need any help with this process, let me know.
For everyone else, as long as you have booked a return flight, you can once again get a visa on entry for Thailand, which is valid for 30 days. If you've bought an open ticket, you should apply for a tourist visa in advance of travel (unless you have a visa arranged by one of the above festivals).
TM6 Form
Everyone will be asked to fill out a TM6 form - arrivals and departure information - either on the plane or upon arrival at the airport in Thailand. Below, you can see what this looks like.
The information on the card must match the information in your passport, so please double-check you replicate this info accurately.
For Address in Thailand, you can use the partnered hotel address: The Corner Lodge, 43, 70 Phatthaya Tai 10 Alley, Pattaya City, Bang Lamung District, Chon Buri 20150. It may be hard to fit all of that in the box, so a shorter version that should be acceptable would be The Corner Lodge, Pattaya, Chon Buri, 20150.
For those not performing at the festival, please select 'Holiday' as your purpose of visit to avoid any potential complications. Even though you're working, you're not being paid. For those performing at the festival, you can select 'Business' as you should already have your work permit.
You are expected to be able to finance your stay in Thailand, so please do not select 'No Income' as your Yearly Income!
You need to keep the departure part of the TM6 form and present this as you leave Thailand. Please do not lose it - arranging a replacement with immigration is needlessly time-consuming and complex. I speak from experience!
